PCI Firewire card will not recognize camera

Hi there,

I recently installed Osx86 on my computer and everything appeared to be working pretty much perfectly. However today when I wanted to give Final Cut Pro a spin I realized that the system was not recognizing my camcorder.

I have a Nec based PCI firewire 1394 card and when the camera is on and plugged in, system profiler says it is there:

However in the PCI cards tab it says no cards installed and no camera shows up in finder and final cut pro says there is no device hooked up.

any help would be greatly appreciated

 

As a new user of osx86 (sorry about that) I may be naive about certain simple fixes.
