At least, my setup works fine. But i have a problem with DMG-Files which I have downloaded: Most of them, and every larger one (means: more than a few MB) won't mount or even install because of checksum errors from the disk utility.

I tried to mount the DMG which was downloaded by my PC and this works.

Any ideas?

I have a similar problem! I can't mount large DMG files! During verify I get some errors like invalid checksum or codec ovverride.

If I skip the verify mounting dmg goes fine.

I'm running 10.4.6

How can I fix it?

EDIT: the files extracted in this way don't work...

Hmm. Take a closer look at the external drive. Does the Finder AND Disk Utility report the same same values for used and free space? With my external 300GB Drive, Finder reports "correct" Values, but the Disk Utility reports only a 128 GB drive, so all new files created on this drive were corrupted.
