Rain724
Well, installed 10.5 on a USB 8GB flash stick, and i could not stand how slow it was... :/ Im thinking about installing Leopard on a USB Hard Drive (320GB WD Firewire/USB) (I would use firewire, but my stupid A08 Dell Bios does not boot to firewire) Anyone here running 10.5 off a external USB drive? If so, how much slower is it than running it off of a normal drive (in % ). Thanks alot, Rain
neogen
I originally installed to external hdd, install took a long time and my dvd writer was not recognized but it ran really well and to be honest the only speed difference i noticed was booting up. Once i was happy in it and what i was doing i installed it to internal sata. So in my opinion it ran well.
KennyW
I don't have any benchmark. My HP Compaq dx7200 (2.8GHz Pentium 4) is running OS 10.5.4 in an external 250GB USB HD. If feels fast and comfortable to use.
