What do you think of this hardware setup?

I am planning on building a Hackintosh within the next 3 months, and have put together this list of parts. I will be using it as a graphics workstation (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, etc.) but won't be doing much 3D or video editing. I plan to install Vista on a dedicated hard drive to reduce any dual booting issues and keep things simple. This machine is basically trying to emulate a Mac Pro.

With the research I have done, I picked a motherboard and CPU that is apparently very compatible with OS X.

Have I overlooked anything?

Will this hardware run OS X well?

Have the parts I combined create a strong performing machine?

Would you suggest any changes to this setup?

Will the audio work?

If EFI is turned on, will Vista run properly? (it will be installed on seperate hard drive)

Here is the list of parts:

  • ASUS P5W DH DELUXE/WIFI-AP Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 975X ATX Intel Motherboard
  • Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Quad Core Processor LGA775 Kentsfield 2.40GHZ 1066FSB 8MB Retail Box
  • EVGA E-GEFORCE 9800GT 600MHZ 512MB 1.8GHZ 256BIT DDR3 Dual DVI-I HDCP HDTV Out Video Card
  • Mushkin XP PC2-8000 Redline 4GB 2X2GB DDR2-1000 CL5-5-5-12 240PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit
  • Western Digital Velociraptor WD3000GLFS 300GB SATA2 10000RPM 5.5MS 16MB 3.5IN Hard Drive OEM
  • Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB SATA2 7200RPM 16MB 8.9MS Hard Drive OEM 3YR MFR Warranty (this is the Vista drive)
  • Western Digital WD1001FALS Caviar Black 1TB SATA2 7200RPM 4.2MS 32MB 3.5IN Dual Proc Hard Drive OEM
  • LG GH22NS30 Black DVD+RW 22X8X16 DVD-RW 22X6X16 DL 16X/12X 2MB SATA OEM
  • Antec P180 ATX Advanced Mid Tower Aluminum Case 4X5.25 1X3.5 6X3.5INT No PS W/ USB & Audio Ports
  • Corsair TX750W 750W ATX 12V 60A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 120MM Fan

The plan to install OS X on the WD Velociraptor. I actually might add another to my system and use it for storing work files. The idea is that large files will open faster on these lightning fast drives. The 1TB drive is for storage of movies, music, etc.

I'm looking forward to this project! It will be fun

Edit: Sorry, I think this should have gone in this forum
