I have a relatively simple yet extremely annoying problem:

The client utility of my USB RTL8187L wlan driver loads 2-5 minutes after a successful boot into leopard (10.5.4). during this time i have no internet connection. way before, it used to load prior to all applications at startup (skype, adium...), and somehow then it stopped loading itself - so i know that this problem can be fixed!!!

does anybody have the same problem, or better yet a fix ?!

help would be greately appreciated!

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the software.

Hi, now I have tried everything and somehow got rid of this problem.

this is what i did:

1. under system preferences --> network: set the service order of the realtek ethernet (wlan) to first

2. uninstalled realtek drivers

3. reboot

4. deleted networkpreferences.plist under /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

5. reboot

6. installed realtek drivers

7. reboot

realtek now loads its client before all other startup apps.

hope this helps people with the same problem
