brudic Posted September 9, 2008 Share Posted September 9, 2008 I have a relatively simple yet extremely annoying problem: The client utility of my USB RTL8187L wlan driver loads 2-5 minutes after a successful boot into leopard (10.5.4). during this time i have no internet connection. way before, it used to load prior to all applications at startup (skype, adium...), and somehow then it stopped loading itself - so i know that this problem can be fixed!!! does anybody have the same problem, or better yet a fix ?! help would be greately appreciated! brudic Posted September 11, 2008 Author Share Posted September 11, 2008 Hi, now I have tried everything and somehow got rid of this problem. this is what i did: 1. under system preferences --> network: set the service order of the realtek ethernet (wlan) to first 2. uninstalled realtek drivers 3. reboot 4. deleted networkpreferences.plist under /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration 5. reboot 6. installed realtek drivers 7. reboot realtek now loads its client before all other startup apps. hope this helps people with the same problem Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
