Okay, well i got 10.4.5 installed great, with no errors completely smooth install.

But when I try to boot into it natively, I get an error ACPI Driver Not Found

I've looked around on here, doesn't seem to have a solution i'm guessing, I've tried on the irc channel.. doesn't seem to be a problem that is fixable, so am I stuck using mac os x through vmware until there is a fix? Also.. tried platform=x86pc no luck, tried all the flags, no luck.

Also tried to install 10.4.3, doesn't work..

System Specs:

AMD 64 3200+ Venice Core

1024 Dual Channel DDR400

ECS K8T890-A (1.0A)

Geforce 4 Ti4200 128mb

Any help would be greatly appreciated, but if it's like it's looking i'm just s.o.l

Hey, I am in the same boat with an Hp a705 that ran 10.4.1 just fine and since 10.4.3 does not go anywhere natively - only thru vmware as you are able to.

I thought I would reply and say - sorry, no dice. This seems to only afffect the minority of users and those of us with this problem are not smart enough figure out a solution.

There are lots of posts on this and I will assume you have tried all the bios options as well, but as I recall there is somethig with the AMD chips that make this not viable.

Sorry for th ebad news, I just can not keep letting posts like these go unanswered.

*scratches head* I've installed 10.4.6 before & it worked and my old hdd went bad. Now installing it (with JaS CD) and it produces that same very error - works in VM but not native boot. The driver is actualy present and platform=X86PC yealds no results.

I'll keep working at it and maybe I'll come up with a solution other than updating the bios (mine is updated) or disabling USB (my usb cannot be disabled).
