Jason Reynolds
This may be buried somewhere in the forums but I have yet to find it. I saw a lot of people with issues with this particular card This guide is for those who have ATI Radeon HD 2400XT pcie with a DevID 0x94c1 card. It IS possible to get this thing working. The solution is to reflash the 2400 XT using ATI's flash utility to make it a 2400 Pro. After flashing , add your dev ID to /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeonx2000/Contents/Info.plist. For the 2400 Pro it's 0x94c3 (the XT is 0x94c1). Get the BIOS here: http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/index.p...=&manufa... Get ATIFLASH here: http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/1123/mirrors.php Boot from the USB stick to a DOS prompt The command syntax for ATIFLASH is: ATIFLASH -f -p 0 ati2400.bin ati2400.bin being the BIN file for the PRO card. Good luck! Worked for me! Check out the screenshot showing 2400 Pro =) 2400.tiff
almeiras1984
Well, thanks but the downgrade "xt -> pro" would waste part of the power of the card. Benchmarks indicate that the pro has the 75% of the xt's power. If the card could be considered "pro" to leopard and "xt" for win... It's a pity. Well thank you anyway! Guest
And 2400 Pro works QE/CI OK only in Leopard 10.5.1 to 10.5.4, don't works in Leopard 10.5.5 (at least, I do not have succeeded). I think that the problem is 10.5.5 OpenGL.framework.
