larsalan
I have a MacBook w/ 200g HD and am trying to put a bootleg xp into a 40g free space partion with refit. So the xp setup said it found 200g and wanted to reformat so I didn't. I wanted to format w a linux setup but mandriva said it wanted to erase everything too. I recall the OS x 10.4 setup disk partioner says it will destroy all partions when updating them (is that true?) what can I do? I might could get another copy of xp 32bit from my school. One time a while ago I was going to install xp from a teacher and it had a nice looking partioner but, I had not backed up my files do I didn't do it. thanks in advance // if you need and more info I'll get it for ya Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/123549-need-help-partion-for-xp/ Share on other sites
larsalan
now I updated the mbr with refit and the insatll had a partioner that found the 40g! then I made a 4g partion for the os and one for files but, when xp was setup/installing I went to the bathroom and when I got back my system had rebooted and refit does not see an xp os on a hard disk? It does however see a "legacy os" thet I tried to boot it and it was nothin' Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/123549-need-help-partion-for-xp/#findComment-873830 Share on other sites
