Seppel86
Hello, I just istalled kalyway 10.5.2 and everything runs fine, just audio won't work. I've got an MSI Mainboard with an VIA K8T800 Chipset and an onboard AC 97 audio device. In Setup I installed the AC 97 audio drivers. When I click on system preferences -> Sound the line out and the mic appear there and the mic is even working. But I won't get any sounds out of my line out. When I look it up in the System profiler there is nothing listed under "build in audio devices". Is there a fix or did I do something wrong, or is it just not working with my hardware? Thanks a lot, Seppel86 ps: I've got a Creative SoundBlaster Live and a SoundBlaster Audigy Ls flying around here. Tried both of them but they won't appear in the System profiler, too. - That would have been my alternative to the onboard sound adapter.
RULLe
To my understanding Azalia Audio is an alternative to AC97 compatible devices. The driver must be on the Kalyway disk. Hope that helps or at least points you in the right direction. Rulle
Seppel86
Mh I just tried an install with ALL audio drives included... don't know if choosing all of them made things just even worse, but at least I all drivers should be included now... but still no sound. RULLe
I suppose installing all the drivers is asking for compatibility issues. I would do a clean install again and select just the Azalia driver.
Seppel86
I think I will try this... by the way it's an Reaktek ALC 655 chip... I didn't mentioned that, don't know if it makes a difference...
