otavio15
Hi all, I downloaded the iDeneb 10.5.4 and I installed everything correctly, I think, but when I boot after the instalation, there is a message "Still waiting for root device". I tried to look here for posts from people that had the same problem as mine, but nothing worked. I just could install the 10.4.x, but when I booted my usb didn't work, so as my ps/2 ports. I also tried to install 10.5.1 and 10.5.2, but a screen sad to restart the computer, and I couldn't boot. I installed on an IDE HD, because my Samsung and my WDC Sata HDs aren't recognized by the Mac on the disk utility. I also tried all configurations in BIOS, but no job. I have an Asus P5VD2-MX, an Intel Pentium D Core Duo. If someone could help me to recognize the Satas or to skip the Still waiting for root device, on boot, please help me! Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/123089-problem-with-the-instalation/ Share on other sites
SticMAC™
I'm glad you actually answered your own question!! There should be settings in your BIOS to change your controller from RAID toi AHCI or Compatible mode or something in that region!? You will unfortunately have to change them, boot from your dvd and check each setting until you see them recognised! Good luck and keep going! otavio15
I tried IDE, AHCI and RAID. But nothing happens. I couldn't find any compatible mode, but if there are some drivers that I could install when I boot from the DVD, please show me how can I install this.
