zakfontaine
Hey, I have my set up running great, and I'd just like to know what the best backup utility is to just clone the whole HDD to an external usb HDD with both partitions remaining intact. I've been using norton ghost for my xp part, and time machine for mac. Is there a better way to do this? I booted with Hiren's bootCD and tried to use acronis, but it wouldn't recognize my usb drive. Thanks in advance. EDIT: What I'd really like to do is just have one backup image for my Thinkpad. I just purchased an Acer One Aspire, and I'd also like to back up the factory settings on it, and eventually have a backup image of the dual boot with Mac OS X that I'm going to install on it. (once my dw1390 comes in). Will Acronis True Image do this? Exedor
I'd love to find a way to do this too. I'm guessing maybe something that does a raw clone to an identical drive might be the closest there is? mrbash
My question exactly. I want to try upgrading to 10.5.5 but want to take a clone of my drive before doing that. Any suggestions for software that might let me do that would be greatly appreciated. Update: I think I found the utility, True Image 11. It is for Windows, but the install CD is bootable. Also, you can create a boot cd from the software. I will update this thread once I have tried it out.
