Nemes
Hi, I'm wondering if there's a procedure to move a Leopard installation to another hard drive. I have a Kalyway 10.5.4 installation on a secondary drive I'd like to yank from this computer, so I want to move that installation to a partition on the primary drive. I'm guessing this won't be as simple as Carbon Copy Cloning the existing installation to the new partition since everything has to be rigged for EFI emulation and booting, so what should I be doing here? KJ4860
1. You can CCC it to the other drive and install EFI_V8 or Chameleon. or (do what i did) 2. Reinstall OSX on the other drive. Transfer data/settings from original drive during installation when prompted ("Mac to Mac" transfer). Nemes
Great, so perhaps it is that easy after all. Since I've never had to manually install EFI_V8, what is the preferred tool for doing so? Considering that i didn't take that path, i wouldn't really know but i believe that you can use OSX Tools to do so(?) 36Joules
Yes, that simple. 1) CCC (Backup everything option) 2) OSX86Tools, install EFIv8 or chameleon. Also can try chameleon 1.011 installer dmg. Clean and easy. 3) Reboot from new drive. Works for me. I routinely backup to a USB drive and can boot the system from it.
