Dear All,

I am a total OSX newbie ...

I have a question to ask.

Following the instructions below for Dell Latitude D600 Install

I dont get the part about :-

o Format Hard Drive as MSDOS

o Partition as Journaled HFS+

I am running Win XP Pro dual boot on the first partition.

I hope to get OSX running on the second partition.

Following the instructions, does it mean that I boot up Win XP and create an MS Dos partition from the disk manager ???

And then boot up the OSX DVD and then select the MS Dos partition that I created from Win XP disk manager and then erase it to be Journaled HFS+ from the OSX disk utilities app ???

Under the disk utilities from OSX ... I can only see -> Erase which will erase the partition to Journaled OSX partition ...

And what is HFS+ ??? Where do I find this option ???

Thank You for your time and help.

Warm Regards

Latitude D600

* Install Method: Kalyway DVD 10.5.1

* Processor: Pentium Centrino 1,4 GHz

* Audio: Sigmatel C-Major (Vendor Id:8086 Device Id: 24C5) works without patches

* LAN: Broadcom 5702 Gigabit Integrated Controller works with old AppleBCM575x.kext from here : http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...ost&id=3114

* Intel ProWireless2100 dosen't work. I use the MSI US54SE II USB WLAN adapter (see 10.5.2 HCL Components list)

* PCMCIA/Cardbus doesn't work

* Install Instructions:

1. To install:

o Boot DVD

o Format Hard Drive as MSDOS

o Partition as Journaled HFS+

o Name partition with one word (no Spaces) remind if you use GUID or MBR

o Choose SSE2

o Do not choose any drivers

o Choose GUID or MBR must be the same as chosen above

o Install

2. After install, there will be a kernel panic. To fix:

o Boot into -x mode

o Delete the AppleBCM575x.kext file from your hard drive at: System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins/AppleBCM575x.kext (throw into trashcan)

o Reboot

o Install old (link above}) of the AppleBCM575x.kext in System/Library/Extensions (not into System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins/)using the KextHelper b7

o In Nework settings use DHCP with manuall adress

o Reboot, Excuse my terrible english & Enjoy

Its ok, I found the solution ...

Thank You !!!

Warmest Regards
