Zombie_Fred
I've scoured the forums and have been unable to find a solution to this problem. As said in the title, it gets to the first load screen and the dvd drive "shuts down", and after a few minutes, a small crossed out circle appears on the top of the apple logo. Here is the error I get with -v: Apple NForce ATA:phy connection failed, status is 0x00000000 Apple NForce ATA:phy connection failed, status is 0x00000000 SAM Multimedia: READ or WRITE failed, SENSE_KEY = 0x06, ASC = 0x29, ASCQ = 0x00 SAM Multimedia: READ or WRITE failed, SENSE_KEY = 0x06, ASC = 0x29, ASCQ = 0x00 SAM Multimedia: READ or WRITE failed, SENSE_KEY = 0x06, ASC = 0x29, ASCQ = 0x00 Still waiting for root device. Gujal
Are you using SATA DVD Drive on an NForce chipset based motherboard? It is known issue with that particular combination Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/122948-install-disc-hangs-on-apple-load-screen/#findComment-871089 Share on other sites
Zombie_Fred
I think that's the setup I'm running. Is there any workaround besides a different disk drive, as I have no IDE slots on my motherboard. Gujal
You can try with Leo4all v3 or 4 as it supposed to have a newer nForce driver (version 5 as opposed to 4). Another option is to use a external USB DVD Drive for the install Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/122948-install-disc-hangs-on-apple-load-screen/#findComment-871105 Share on other sites
