Baaaahhhh... common man - you are totally wrong with this one!!!

Oh? What sensible person would buy a 2,000USD Mac notebook expecting to play games on it? What type of tech savvy person would expect Mac's on-board card to compete with it's counterpart? At this stage, you'd be a fool to even think you can get even normal frame rates.

You want to game on a Mac? Wait for the Desktop version. Considering all the problem with heat, Mac+Win not having the capacity to control the CPU fan, and the amount of time you have before the battery runs out; why would one even think of buying a piece of machinery that will not cope with the job yo want it to do?

What gives you the idea it won't run the fans? Apple's driver list does not list the fans as something not working yet. The fans run for me. And it's always hot, regardless of the OS I use.

true, battery life sucks at the moment, but it will get better as they write more drivers. it's still beta.

No, the fans, from what I have read, will only run at 1 speed. Are you sure you have speed step running under windows? If it does not lower the CPU speed at idle, then yes, it a big issue right now. I hope that problem is on top of Apple's list as far as Bootcamp is conserned.

hey guys ... you might wanna check out this forum (I dunno if there is one over here)

it has been discovered that Apple is severly underclocking the graphics card ... so we are "overclocking" it to the clock speeds the other cards are at and finding very good results .. such as,

a 3Dmark05 score of 4148 - and a only mildly warm MPB with a happy spinning fan.

Please inform your guys that overclocking the GPU will NOT yield significant over all speed in gaming. You need to find a comfortable AGP memory speed but not get artifacts when running a loop 3dmark demo for at least 12hrs. You'll find your little cosy corner if it doesn't crash or set your machine on fire. Other than that, if you can use Omega drivers, that would be good too.

PS. If you don't game 24hrs a day, you'll find that underclocking the processor and GPU will save your batteries. Most often underclock when only using light applications. It makes a huge difference on a notebook :weight_lift:.
