modestmoose
I want to install OSx86 and I have a Dell GX270 Desktop with the following specs: Dell GX270 Motherboard P4 3.0 GHZ HT Northwood Processor 3 GB DDR 3200 RAM 7600 GT Nvidia AGP Card I have seen a bunch of different versions of Mac for windows, iATKOS, Jas, etc.. Which would best install with my system specs? Should I install tiger or leopard? I haven't spent too much time on this forum, I hope this isn't an annoying question. Thank you ahead of time. 360freak
Leopard. What you need to do honestly is look through the tutorials and the Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) to see if your computer/hardware is supported. Get all the info you can, and don't forget to use the search button in the forum. Then determine which distro to get with that information. Like many others, you may have to try each one and debug to see which one works for you. OSx86 can be a very long and tedious thing to install, but it's worth it in the end. OzTambo
I am pretty new to the HackinTosh game I have only made about 3 however I ahv loaded Kalyway 10.5.2 at least 10 times and iATKOS a few. If you want to get into the HackinTosh game I recommend reading what others have done and building it with a tested config. Every time I vary from what others have spec'ed out it take hours to figure out the slightest issue (IMO) Also the Dell GX270/280 is a few years old and had a ton of problems with Capacitors on the Mobo. I personally returned 4 from my company and if you call Dell they are still swapping them out at N/C even after warranty is up.. The best guide i have found is by Weaksause12, (Link) however there are tons on cheap configs that you can build for under $250 (US) Link to ECS 945 thread If you live near Frys I recommend this...
