Never owned a Mac in my life. Mostly because of the price. Additionally, I live in a country, where Mac's are even more expensive, than elsewhere. :)

After using Leopard on my old laptop for couple of months with WiFi, sound issues and no QE/CI, I decided to finally build my first hackintosh. I read this forum and picked out "supported" hardware to get. However, as my experience with this stuff isn't very high, I would like to hear your opinions.

Here is what I'm planning to buy this week:

 Motherboard:
Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3R

CPU:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
3.0GHz, FSB1333, 6MB

RAM:
OCZ (2x1GB), DDR2, 1066MHz
Kit Of 2, CL5-5-5-15, SLI Ready

HDD:
Seagate Barracuda
250 Gb, SATA II, 7200rpm, 16Mb

GPU:
MSI NX8800GT OC
660MHz / 1900MHz, 512MB, 256bit

btw - Can someone explain what does "E0, C0 stepping" means for CPU's?

btw - What power supply should I get for this hardware?

Looks good. Get a decent power supply, a good brand that has enough amperes on the 12V line. A good brand 500W or so is a good PSU.

Steppings are just specific releases of a CPU. In the lifetime of a CPU, it often gets minor updates, which are called steppings. Newer steppings can have slightly better characteristics, because they have improvements.
