I have a Cyberpower 257SA1 laptop. specs are as follows:

singe core prescott 3.4Ghz P4 478 SSE2, SSE3

1GB RAM

ATI Mobility RAdeon 9700 (all x86 boot disks see it as a 9600....??)

Uniwill 257SA1(??) motherboard

heres the deal. kalyway 10.5.2

i have to use the following boot command to even begin to attempt to get into the installer:

"platform=ACPI:X86PC -f -x -v"

ANY variation and no go. if i type anything else, or it just decides to be a pain, it freezes here:

--------------------------------

Mac OS Version

Not yet set

Kernel Version

Darwin Kernel Version 9.2.0; Sun Mar 2 00:11:08 SCT 2008; made by ToH:xnu-1228/BUILD/obj/release_i386

the few times i have gotten it to boot into the installer, if i try and type with the laptop keyboard, it instantly locks up cold. reboot back into the installer if it decides to go, and before you type anything, plug up a apple USB keyboard and you can type all day on the apple keyboard, touch the built in one and locks up. got past that and have tried 3 of the 6 different kernels on install. stopped there because i havent been able to get back into the installer. these are the ones i tried, IIRC:

kernel_9.2_sleep

kernel_922_kabyl

kernel_922_modin

after install with 9.2_sleep, i get grey "restart screen" on apple logo. dont recall what it pulled with a -v. the other two have been reboot loops w/ or w.o boot modifiers IIRC.

i've tried ToH RC2, and i havent found any boot modifiers to make it happy. it just stops at the same place as mentioned above, just a bit different. and i've also tried Uphuck 10.4.9 and cant find ay boot modifiers to make it happy either. i know they are all good disks, because the kalyway is currently running on HackPro "the 2nd", the ToH installed my Bro-in-law's HackBook, and Uphuck 10.4.9 installed perfectly on HackPro "the 1st".

any advice or pointers?? i am currently working on getting iAtkos_v1.0i, iAtkos_v1.0ir2, iAtkos_2.0i, and iAtkos_2.0i_BS_Release. i have no idea if i'll be better off with any of those, but i'm determined to try with anything i can get my hands on.

anything is appreciated.....

nothing people......??? come on now. i know somebody's got to have an idea of some sort.

iAtkos 1.0ir2 and iAtkos 2.0i finished downloading last night, so i'll be trying them in a few hours to see if they get me anywhere.

the other night i tried the whole boot123 deal and it didnt get me far. do you have to have a currently installed version of OSx86 on the drive??

for further clarification, heres a pic of where it has a brain fart every time. i havent gotten it into a GUI for days now. screen shot of where it stops:

error1.png

the darwin kernel version number and date vary between the different "flavor" disks i try. its really starting to make me mad that it isnt working. if im seeking help in the wrong place, let me know please. just ignoring isnt helping me get to where i'm supposed to be.

thanks

with the iAtkos 2.0i, i jsut started trying different boot commands and found something that got me into the installer.

platform=X86PC cpus=1 maxmem=1024 -legacy -f -x -v -s

never tried the -s before. when it gets to the command prompt dealie, i type "exit", wait a few minutes, and it starts loading up into the GUI installer.....go figure.

update.....

after it letting me into the installer once w/ iAtkos 2.0i and freezong during installation, i rebooted and tried it with kalyway 10.5.2, same boot options.

platform=X86PC cpus=1 maxmem=1024 -legacy -f -x -v -s

installation was successful, but "restart computer" grey screen was all i got afterwards. tried booting actual OS with same boot options but to no avail.....nada....
