M$ screwed up yesterday for the last time... I consider myself quite competent with all hardware/software, but there are so many choices to get right here, kinda getting option paralysis... Spec: Asus A8N sli premium AMD x2 4400+ BFG 8800GT OC 512 2gb OCZ 3 SATA HDDs (1 500gb WDcaviar 2x 160gb Seagate barracuda) Creative Audigy 4 EDIT: Want to try dual boot. OS x on a Seagate HD of its own, XP on WD with remaining HD for NTFS storage. Would like to install from DVD boot, but could use another MAC & put my HD in. Which would be easier? /EDIT Im thinking of using Zephyroth 10.5.2 (or recommend an older, more stable& complete build) because, as I understand, Kalyway wont support install onto SATA, can that be fixed? Im unsure of 8800gt, this topic appears to have working kext in them, but which ones?! And NVinstall/NVinjector whole thing makes my mind reel... I get the understanding there is no way to make Creative soundcards to work. I have onboard AC'97, so intending to use http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Audio this, if I can eventually boot at all. Advice? Guidance? Help? Please? Thanks -T For your 8800GT, no problem, use EFI strings for NVKush I don't know anything about your sound card, but you can use AC97 onboard for sure - just find the kext you need as far as install method. let the paralysis set in. I do not use AMD, altho there are plenty of solution around. I would try a retail install method after you have tried the packaged ones. TOH 9.2 kernel, customize is easy. 8800gt 512 with latest auto NVinstall package Creative audio obv doesnt work at all .. .yet... All LAN, SATA, IDE, system drivers work o.o.b... MUCH EASIER THAN YOU MIGHT THINK! Took me about 2 days of research and downloading, 2-3 hours for fully working and troubleshooting.
