madmatrixz3000 Posted August 22, 2008 Share Posted August 22, 2008 okay so I have installed using a kalyway 10.5.2 disk and have a stable environment. However beyond plain OSx nothing seems to work. Mainly I know that this is because of the need for CI/QE, but my sleep is not working and it seems like this is needed to get my X3100 to work. I have the Sony Vaio NR385E with these specs: DVD+-RW (Working Fine) Marvel Yukon (Currently not important as I don't want internet on this install at this time) ~200 GB HDD (90 GB to vista 5 to recovery and 87 to OSX) [i know it doesn't add up hints the ~200] x3100 (Satan of the whole thing so it seems) Centrino Duo T5550 (Both cores are seen in OSx don't know if both are used but that is later down the road) 2 GBs RAM Firewire (400 works fine able to connect) The mobo stat that I can find just says Sony Mobo (IN OSX and can't get to it) I have deleted all of the video kexts, but have them backed up to my Vista part. I also have the kexts ready from this post: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry675880 So i installed with the normal install options on the Kalyway disk, but I changed the option to get the x3100 drivers (don't actually work, but saves me from the millions of vid drivers installed) and I added power manager, kextHelp and time machine fix. Then I got the 10.5.3 combo and removed the AppleIntel vid drivers (backed up) I selected vanilla here as my new kernel (don't know if that was right to do, but I did it). My problem is that most of the 3100 and x3100 guides say to hit Power+s+enter, but my laptop does not like to sleep for some reason and never did at any point, I don't know if it is the screen/vid card being stubborn or what and I have looked up on google and can't seem to find an answer for Kaly 10.5.2 sleep issues, also school is taking up time to deep search. I am willing to follow anything, but have run out of DVD's as my Kalyway install's keep running away when I need them (I still have one and an ubuntu live). Also my power manager is gone if you could help me with that too.
