hi,

i´ve recently got kalyway 10.5.1 to work on my Acer travelmate 8100 ( 2ghz centrino M x700 mobility 128mb ICH6, intel mobo, ALC880) now since nearly everything is working ( except QE/CI ) i only have one problem left: the battery meter.

In PowerManagement thread in first post is said, that in kalyway i have to change a value in the ACPIPowerSource.kext. So i´ve edited it and reloaded the kext, but still no battery meter. I´ve also tried AcerBattery but it seems to be supposed to be used with 10.5.4, since kextstat sais it´s a 10.5.4 kext. Now, in iATKOS v1 boot dvd i get the battery meter perfectly! the status is right and battery percentage too. So i´ve tried to get the ACPIPowerSource.kext, AppleSmartBatterymeter.kext, Powermanagement.bundle and IOACPIFamily.kext from iATKOS dvd to work in my install. Now they seem to work, but i still get no battery meter... Please help...

kextstat | grep Battery/Power say nothing... but heres the output of kextstat | grep ACPI

kextstat | grep ACPI

hi,

first of all thanks for your reply.

I've installed the pkg, but after reboot, my system didn't boot anymore, it hanged before initalizing the IOAPIC, most likely because i'm on 10.5.1 (can't get 10.5.2 to boot) and it's not compatible. btw i think i have to search on the *ACPI* and *Power,Battery* kexts for finding the right setup. i will check the info.plists again tomorrow...

i finally got a very little clue: at bootup a batterymeter shows up veryyyy shortly, but then disappears and is only a little space i can klick and get the message "no batteries installed"

edit: now a better one: kextload -t "pathtotheacpipowersource" says: no valid depency can be found: AppleACPIPlatform.

so what do i have to edit now? the cfCompatibleversion has to be 1.0.5 i thought, is that right?

edit: i'm using iatkos v1 now... it's working.
