got my hand on 10.4.4 with 10.4.5 patch. installed it via VMWare onto a native drive. took a while but it finally got done. reboot natively and whoaalala... works like a charm.... except for a few things.

my rig...

AMD64 X2 4400+

ASUS A8N32-Deluxe Mobo

4 GB RAM

2 300 ATA HD

1 300 SATA HD

1 74 GB 10K RPM HD

1 SATA DVD Burner

2 GeForce 7800GT video cards

first off, i can't install natively.... had to be done thru VMWare. it's a given... no choice since i have SATA DVD drive. on top of that my SATA HD don't get detected at all....(nforce 4 stuff, hopefully someone finds a working kext). i'm left at installing on 1 of my ATA HD. it's ok i can live with that.

the odd thing is that my audio works using the default AC97 kext. it doesn't work at all on 10.4.3. oh well... it works so i'm happy with it. Only one of my NIC works.

i bought a Westinghouse 37 in LCD TV for use as my monitor not too long ago. i decided on this model since it has a higher resolution than the others not to mention it's also cheaper. i was able to get it for $1300... now that's a bargain. this is not the best LCD TV... if you're going to use it as a TV, but perfect for use as a monitor. anyhow... it can handle resolution up to 1920x1080. i try setting my graphics mode to use this resolution but no go. i always end up with 1280x1024 no matter what. does anyone have a kext that will allow me to use a higher resolution?

other than these minor complaints, i'm very satisfied with the installation. it went thru like a long breeze with no problem at all.
