jury
I'm trying to install the a patched OSX 10.4.4 DVD with VMWare. I've tried to install the DVD using both the physical drive, and by mounting an ISO image onto a virtual drive . Both times the Darwin loader screen starts and then displays : system config file '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found and that's it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. yschu7
I'm not sure this is work for you, but this is how I installed it under VMware. first, I mount the Mac iso using Alcohol, and assign the virtual cd drive under VMware. then Boot the vm and press ESC key before the count down number decrease to zero. finally, wait 2 to 3 minutes.. the normal installation screen show up. Hope this help, good luck! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12198-vmware-and-comapplebootplist-not-found/#findComment-77368 Share on other sites
jury
I tried to press the escape key while Darwin was starting. It doesn't respond. It goes right into the error message: system config file '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found And then that is it. Nothing else happens. Silicon Valley
I had the same problem. My Fujitsu N6010 has a DVD Drive that Apple doesn't like. I found that if I clicked a few keys on the keyboard (randomly) and clicked my mouse a few times, the loader started. I got that same error .plist or whatever. It then loaded. osmthi
I don't know if this helps, but I had the same problem so I followed what some other guy on here said: I mounted the ISO with DAEMON tools and pressed ESC when the VMware loaded and then chose the CD-ROM drive. It displayed the Darwin loader which said "Press any key to install Mac OSX or F8 for advanced options". I pressed F8 and at the "boot:" prompt I just pressed enter and it worked! I then ran into another error, but that's just another story for me... it'll work for you.
