Shuttle SG31G2: Couple of questions

Long(ish) time reader, first time poster. Please be kind.

 

My proposed specification is as follows:

• Shuttle SG31G2 Glamor
  
• Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz Processor
  
• Corsair 4GBKit(2x2GB) DDR2 800/PC2-6400 Memory C5
  
• Western Digital Caviar 750GB SATA II
  
• NEC AD-7200S DVD+/- RW SATA
  
• XFX GeForce 8600GT 256MB DDR3 DUAL DVI
  

I've based this spec on the HCL in the wiki and the "Recommended OSX hardware" page on Infinite Mac. However:

1. Are there any potential gotchas you can see here? The idea is to run OSX as easily as possible yet still have a good enough Windows box to fall back on in case it all goes horribly wrong.
   
2. I have no idea whether the DVD drive should be SATA or IDE. I have the option and there is no price difference. Which would you recommend? Bear in mind I want to dual boot this with Windows so I'm leaning towards IDE as I think that would make my life easier for installation.
   
3. I have no idea which OSX86 distribution I should go for. The major ones seem to be Leo4All, Kalyway and iAtkos -but I have no idea which is the best. Ideally I'd like something that works out of the box with minimal fuss, the most amount of working hardware and the easiest to update. Any suggestions?

1. I know the wattage with shuttles seems to be an issue. I have seen fixes for most of the compnants to the board.

2. i'd get an IDE DVD drive just because i like my sata headers for sata hard drives.

3. my suggestion (maybe i'm a masochist) is try boot -132 with a retail dvd first. you can do GFX strings with OSX86 utilities which is pretty easy, and the ALC888 will work probably with the taruga audio patcher. But i dont like the idea of stealing from apple, just ignoring their rules.
