joe3333
So I had Tiger running a while back on my laptop and decided to put Leopard on my Desktop. I'm having some problems though. Now, I've partitioned part of a blank IDE hard drive with diskpart (65GB in HFS+ format), set it as the active partition and am using iAtkos v4i. I boot from Darwin and I get the apple logo with the spinning dots. After that I get a circle in the middle of the screen with a line through it and it doesn't go anywhere after that. I've tried it a few times and sometimes I get the message saying my computer needs to be restarted. Does anyone know what I can do? I read something about people getting that with incompatible hardware. Anyone know? Edit: I also ran the -v diagnostic thing, I wasn't sure if this was useful enough or not becasue I haven't actually installed it yet but the final line is "Still Waiting for Root Device" Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 2.4Ghz ASUS P5N-E SLI Geforce 8600 GT 2GB RAM SATA2 320GB (XP Install) SATA2 500GB (Storage etc) IDE 250GB (Where I want to install OSX) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121802-iatkos-v4i-halts-during-install/ Share on other sites

joe3333
What did you do to turn off the sata drives? I just turned the jmicron sata controller off in the bios. Is there something else I should do? I've also been searching the Google box, lol. What do you have in terms of DVD drives? Apparently, using 1 ide slot you put the dvd drive on master and the hard drive on slave and it fixed the problem. I haven't tried it yet but I'll give it a try later. joe3333
Okay, so as far as I can tell it's just not detecting the IDE hard drive. I Physically changed the HDD and DVD-Rom drive to the same IDE cable because I heard that helps. I set the HDD as master and the DVD-Rom as slave. I even physically unplugged my 2 sata drives and it still says "AppleNforceATA" "Warning Phy Connection Fails". It does find my sata drives fine though. Does anyone know how to get around this? I found a guide for my specific motherboard but it uses iATKOS v1.0i R2. I read it can be updated via the apple update no problem though so I may try to get that release and see if it works.
