jonhollis123
Hi there. i've been reading a lot about about the problem of the ASUS IPIBL-LB MOBO. I myself have problems with. The only possible versions of osx86 to work on it now are jas 10.5.4 and leo4all v3. i tried jas's 10.5.4 and it just hangs at "MAC Framework succesfuly initialized using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 clusteR IO buffer headers". Would anyone know the reason for the error. some help would be great! rx7boy
Hello jonhollis123, I am have not tried JaS 10.5.4 yet, I will try in the morning and report back. My main problem right now under Leo4allv3 is my 9500GS video card. I cannot seem to get this working, I have tried NVinject and nothing unless there is something I am doing wrong? Anyone have any suggestions? rx7boy
Yes I do have it running with Leo4Allv3 10.5.2 but just can't seem to get right kext for video to work for 9500gs. Have you had yours running at all? I will try JaS 10.5.4 when I get home from work. I think it has the 6/7000 series and the "nvinject 4.1"(like you described bfore). BTW... if you or anyone can help me. I just found out how to overcome my leopard error "Mac framework...buffer" thing...without havin to flash BIOS!! (If you need help with this ,post back!) The only problem is that at the leopard setup, it says it doesn't see a keyboard(mouse doesn't work either!). Can anyone give some advice? rx7boy
jonhollis123 what did you do to overcome your error without flashing BIOS? My Bios is flashed to the custom 5.23 right now. Are you using PS/2 mouse or keyboard or USB? jonhollis123
jonhollis123 what did you do to overcome your error without flashing BIOS? My Bios is flashed to the custom 5.23 right now. Are you using PS/2 mouse or keyboard or USB? Well i was going to flash to 5.23 mod for Bios, but i knew that it was only to active all cores. Instead of flashing, i use the cpus=1 before boot. But as someone had already said on another topic, the "Mac Framework......Using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers" error was HAPPENING CAUSE OF to the "ACPIPLATFORM.kext". In jas 10.5.4, i just added 2 or 3 extra kext that had "ACPI" in the name and/or description. I believe one of these was a "fix". So it eliminated the problem!!X) BTW You should try some of the "ACPI" kext in your version of leopard BFORE downloading Jas 10.5.4!! Now the only problem is that my PS/2 keyboard and PS/2 mouse don't work in leopard (BUT IT LOADS UP PERFECTLY!!) Sico
Hey guys, The Geforce 9500GS has no driver working yet( don't bother with it, sell it and get a card like ATI or Nvidia with G92 core like example 8800 or 9800), with JAS 10.5.4 and with no kext checked for video, you will be able to get this card working with only one resolution and if you want to change the resolution later after the MAc installed, what you do is to insert different graphics resolution in the apple.plist.com (forget the name of this file) but you can find it by going to: library, preferences, system configuration. As for the PS2 keyboard and mouse, make sure when you install JAS you have a USB keyboard/mouse and after installation of Mac is done, use the JAS dvd and use the apple ps2 patch inside the pach folder and connect the ps2 keyboard/mouse and they will work instantly. I am still using the 10.5.4 and not the 10.5.5. Be aware to use the latest version a patch in this forum needed before you install the new version, other wise you will ruin your installation. Please, once your installation is done make sure you have your time machine backup up and running in case later you need to reinstall the whole thing. To eliminate errors during installation, make sure in bios have the SATA set to AHCI, also you can try boot MAC (in bios too) using the internal video on board (works with no problem) and later you can switch to 9500GS and check it. If you installing JAS 10.5.4: check only the in kernel the STAGExnu , in the chipset drivers choose Intel ICHX , AUdio drivers choose the ALC888, device identification choose Intel ICH8 to ICH9, Smbios choose iMAC and that's all and it should go smoothly after. The bios 5.23 will make the four cores of the CPU working. Good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121709-hp-a6552f-with-mobo-ipibl-lb-ver-525-kernal-panic-hang-at-install/page/2/#findComment-899383 Share on other sites

At setup the first it did not see a keyboard. I then put a kext using MACDRIVE....restarted....THEN I recongised it. I have various kext such as "ApplePS2Controller"..."AppleACPIPS2NUB". What I did was use 'MacDrive' on vista to move these kext(or thier folders) into the "System, Library, Extensions" folder. When i restarted, Leopard loads fine but i get a few little errors that the kext WERE INSTALLED INCORRECTLY". Why is this happening? How can i fix these so that i can use my keyboard and mosue! BTW I do not have a spare USB keyboard or mouse. BTW I do not have a spare USB keyboard or mouse. That's the kext that you need for PS2 to work "ApplePS2Controller". You can find it within the JAS dvd. If you are using PS2 keyboard/mouse at first , this version (JAS) wont recognized your PS2 keyboard/mouse until you use the kext i mention above. And in order to get there you need the USB keyboard/mouse. So this what I meant, hope it's understood.
