MacUser2525
When I use apple software update my OS crashed! Probably the IntelCPUManagement.kext causing it go to the Apple website and get the 10.5.4 Combo update then once you have it follow the instructions in this thread its for 10.5.2 but the idea remains the same, BTW you can most likely just copy'n'paste link for the 10.5.2 in the thread changing the last part of it to 10.5.4.dmg. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=87078 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121586-software-update-from-1052-to-1054-on-intel/#findComment-860296 Share on other sites

To get the error when it boots hit the F8 to bring up the boot loader then use the hit any key option to be able to type in -v then hit the ENTER key, this boots in text mode allowing you to see the error when it happens. kexter
what kernel did you use under 10.5.2? i think my kabyl changed to vanilla. i first had to enable "no execute memory protect" in bios (gigabyte ga ep35 ds4) to use vanilla-kernel instead of kabyl, then the update (COMBO!)worked oob.
