shootingfreak101
Hey guys I created a custom 2.0.1 iphone firmware using winpwn. I opened the ipsw builder, selected install 2.0 for apps, added custom images and under advanced I check activate enable baseband update, neuter bootloader 3.9/4.6 and unlock baseband. I selected the correct bin files for the baseband and created the new ipsw. I selected pwnage and it verified and said itunes had been pwned. I then opened itunes and clicked shift+restore and selected the custom ipsw. It extracted it and put the iphone into recovery mode. then I got error 6 which is a restore error. I then tried it again with no go. I then did a restore using apples non hacked 2.0.1 and that was successful. any ideas what I need to do for a custom 2.0.1 firmware? or should i do a custom 2.0 firmware? Mesoian
Restore to normal 2.0, then upgrade to 2.1cfw. For some reason, normal 2.1 and normal 1.4 don't play nicely with 2.1cfw. 2.0 is just fine though. Also, installer 2.0 is janky right now. I'd stick with Cydia for the moment.
