fleisch
Hi all! My Hack freezes with a kernel panic, just when the blue desktop shows for the first time (before the wallpaper would normally show). I don't know what's wrong with it, it worked perfectly for a while, suddenly it won't load all the way through.. How can I tell what's wrong without any visible error message Is there a crash log somewhere? I don't feel like reinstalling from timemachine backup again... My system: Asus p5w dh deluxe e6400 8800gt nvidia thx for helpful comments! cheers fleisch Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121446-how-to-diagnose-kernel-panic/ Share on other sites
Colonel
Try booting with "-v". This will allow you to boot your system in verbose mode, giving you a diagnostic output of the issue. Post back with where it panics at. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121446-how-to-diagnose-kernel-panic/#findComment-859277 Share on other sites
fleisch
Hey! thx for the reply! I already tried booting in verbose, but the issue seems to be after all the boot up messages... so it shows everything then starts up the graphical interface and then freezes... i still can't tell what is wrong... any other ideas? thx! fleisch Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121446-how-to-diagnose-kernel-panic/#findComment-859302 Share on other sites
fleisch
Hm...looks as if i would have to reinstall from timemachine backup once more.. this is annoying, since this isnt the first time this kernel panic happened... Still happy about any helpful advice though!
