gaspacho_soup
Hi guys I'm trying to dual boot XP with leopard with the the Kalway 10.5.2 DVD onto my PC but I've been having some problems... If I format the mac partition as a primary partition with partition magic/acronis (Tried both FAT32 and raw) the mac disk utility fails to format it to HFS+ journaled, and immediately unmounts the partition after I try (i.e. it greys out). Then it does not let me mount it again, and my only choice is to boot back to XP, and use partition magic to delete and re-create the partition. If I format it as logical RAW, it formats the disk properly and all the files install perfectly. But then this leads to another problem.. "HFS+ disk error" or something to that effect when I try to boot... which another thread on this forum explains to be because of it being a Logical drive! So my problem is... I can't format a primary partition to install Leopord, and I can install _but not boot_ Leopard on a logical partition! Can anyone offer any advice on what to do? My relevent system specs are:<br Amd Athlon 64 2800+ Gigabyte Mobo Seagate 7200 rpm hdd (2 NTFS partition, 1 FAT32 and 1 empty for mac) Thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121279-cannot-mount-primary-partition-only-logical/ Share on other sites
gaspacho_soup
nvm... solution was to use logical, do the installation then use acronis disk director to convert the disk to a primary partition Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121279-cannot-mount-primary-partition-only-logical/#findComment-859085 Share on other sites
