Hi,

I have read about this "new-imporoved" EP energy-saving line of Gigabyte boards, but what interests me MOST is whether the EP35 boards are as wonderfully compatible for OSX86 as the P35 boards from Gigabyte???

Someone else wrote that there are indeed hardware differences as well as fsb differences...

Please, dear EP35 owners, share your experience, it is getting harder to even find P35 boards here anymore!

thanks,

ninetto

I have two P35 boards, E8400s, running the F7 Bios. 100% compatibility using Weaksauce's wonderful guide here.

I purchased two more from Newegg, not realizing at first they were EP35 versions. With the F4 Bios, I had random problems with both (occ kernel panics on shutdown, a kernel panic when installing Leopard from an IDE DVD burner).

With F5 - no problems, I have 100% compatibility again using his original P35 installation thread.

I *did* disable onboard ethernet and purchased two of the Encore gigabit ethernet adapters, as he recommends in his thread.

I've got the EP35-DS4. No problems, with F5 BIOS version. The DS4 is discontinued, unfortunately, but it is such a great Hackintosh board.

I built a system with a friend using the EP35-DS3L, used Leo4ALLv3 and had no problems getting it to work 100%.
