Jake
Is there I way I can prevent my laptop from sleeping when I close the lid? I can't find any settings in System Preferences. In Linux a daemon listens for the ACPI event generated by the lid switch, in BSD a sysctl controlls the lid switch behavior, but I don't know how Darwin does it or where to reconfigure the behavior. I found a PPC app that's supposed to prevent sleeping, but it doesn't work. The ACPIDisplay.kext is failing to load at startup with "undefined symbols" errors. So, the result is no screen saver and no lid closing hibernation. My fan keeps going, but it blows cool air, and the laptop doesn't respond to pings. I've looked at the Info.plist files for all of the ACPI stuff and haven't found anything that looks like it'll do what I want.
