I am on day 3 of my installation and I will try not to bore you with the details. First, my specs... Dell Optiplex GX 270 Intel 865 chipset Pentium 4 2.6GHz 800MHz FSB 2GB DDR 400MHz RAM 40GB ATA-100 HDD GeForce 6600 AGP with 256MB VRAM I am using the JaS OSx86 10.5.4 Client Server Intel SSE2 SSE3 distro. Here's the history: I booted off of the DVD just fine. I used Disk Utility to partition and format the HDD as Apple Partition Map and formatted as HFS+. Just one partition. After several install attempts which would freeze at the "About a minute" remaining mark, I hit F8 and used the -x -v option. The install FINALLY completed, but now it won't boot from the HDD. I have been through so many threads on this board and tried so many things, that I have decided to just take a breath and ask for help. What is my next step? Thanks in advance. Advokit Posted August 14, 2008 Share Posted August 14, 2008 Maybe try a different Distro? Like the Kalyway? I Found I had to burn a couple of discs too before I got mine to load up. madtech Posted August 21, 2008 Share Posted August 21, 2008 This may sound a bit mad, but a friend of mine had the same pro, and he said that he sorted it by moving the mouse every few mins, he thinks it was going into some kind of sleep mode.
