marcintosh Posted August 13, 2008 Share Posted August 13, 2008 Since I plan on beginning iPhone development, after days of downloads, updates, driver fixes I finally get a 100% working version of Leo 10.5.4 with all devices functional. Then I finally get around to installing the iphone SDK and bam, kernel panic every boot. So my question is has anyone managed to get the iPhone SDK up and running on a hackintosh? Specifically with an AMD CPU or is it simply not possible at this stage and I may as well give up trying? carlosp_uk Posted August 13, 2008 Share Posted August 13, 2008 Hullo marcintosh The problem is the CHUD tools and the various kexts that it installs. First off, to sort out your kernel panic, just boot into single user mode and delete any kexts from System/Library/Extensions that begin with CHUD. Reboot again with -v -f options at Darwin prompt. So... ...how to install the SDK... Well, on older versions of the iPhone SDK you could just un-tick the CHUD tools from the installation script and this fixed the problem. However, this isn't the case for newer versions of the SDK as far as I can see. Fortunately, some friendly soul has posted a torrent (check TPB) that enables you to install the SDK with no problem. I have tested this and got it working with no problems.
