Windows04
Allright, this is my situation: I have 1 HDD (128) formatted as NTFS and MBR and I have Vista installled on that. I also have another HDD (1 TB) that is completely new (not formatted, just bought). Can I format the 1 TB disk as GUID and install Mac Os X on it (I use Iatkos v4) and have a dual boot with Vista (using the Darwine bootloader). Also, can I use bootcamp to divide my 1 TB disk into 2 partitions to install on the second partition Windows XP? So my final goal is: Windows Vista (0,0) (the "old" HDD (128 GB), 1 partition) Mac os X (1,0) (so the new HDD (1 TB), 1st partition) Windows XP (1,1) (the new HDD (1 TB), 2nd partition) Is it possible? Or do I have to format the "old" HDD also with GUID? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120834-mbr-and-guid/ Share on other sites

Kasakka
I could never get GUID to work with dual boot. I have Vista on hard drive 1 and OSX (MBR) on hard drive 2. If I formatted the OSX drive as GUID I couldn't get it to load using Vista bootloader. Neither could I get it working the other way around using Darwine. What's the real difference between MBR and GUID anyway? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120834-mbr-and-guid/#findComment-856450 Share on other sites
r1shot
Does not really matter if you can install Chameleon can boot it. As for none Darwin bootloader EasyBCD is the best. Windows04
If i format the OSX partition as MBR, can I then still use Bootcamp to set up a XP partition on the same drive?
