googlebean
Has anyone here had any success running Guitar Hero on their Hackintosh? I installed the other day and when I try to launch, it fails. I'm not sure which piece is failing but I'm guessing it's related to the video card - I don't see the NVidia 8800 listed on the box as supported. Is there something I can do with an updated nvinject? The machine is running flawlessly, and has been for months. I'm just stumped on this one. Any help is appreciated. coolied
Sorry OP, I have the same video card (8800GT) installed via an EFI string, and the game runs fine. So it's not that the game doesn't support the 8800GT. I don't really know what that kind of an error means, i'm more familiar with Windows blue-screens. I'm guessing it may be similar to some of the Windows bluescreens that start popping up in certain apps when a memory module is failing. According to some things I just read on Apple's forum, those EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) errors usually point to bad RAM. Be watchful for apps to start doing this more often (note apps other than GH3 MIGHT start doing the same thing), if this starts happening it's almost certainly a bad RAM module. They're talking about a different app (Aperature) but the errors are similar: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6339059 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120769-guitar-hero-with-8800gt/#findComment-854862 Share on other sites
googlebean
Coolied, thanks for the reply. What I ended up doing was updating all the way to 10.5.4 - and going the EFI route on the video card. Everything works great now. Thanks.
