SoyOskar
Hi everyone! I'm going to buy a Conceptronic C54RC PCMCIA wireless card for my HP530. My HP530 has a wireless card (Broadcom4315) but it isn´t recognised by MAC (Tiger or Leopard), so i need other card. Is the Conceptronic C54RC (chip Ralink rt61 or rt2500) compatible? I saw post of people that this chipset works, but even in USB mode. This is PCMCIA. And other question... How can i know if my CardBus is recognised? Thanks to all Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120687-conceptronic-c54rc-problem-with-broadcom-4315/ Share on other sites

Thanks to all I would be more interested to know why your bcm4315 isn't working rather than going the ralink way. If you want to see if the bcm4315 adapter will work, download and install the PCIUtils ver 3.0.0 (look in XLabs). Provide the output of: lspci -vvnn From here we'll be able to figure out what you need to do to make your adapter work. SoyOskar
Hi! i have used the Broadcom43xx_enabler.sh script that includes my device id (pci14e4,4315) and nothing happens. I'm using JaS 10.4.9 with the patch IO80211Family.kext(ver 10.4.5). If i don't install this patch, i had a kernel panic after aplying the broadcom patch. The system doesn´t recognise my card in System Profile, but it appears in NetworkInterfaces.plist: <dict> <key>BSD Name</key> <string>en1</string> <key>IOBuiltin</key> <false/> <key>IOInterfaceType</key> <integer>6</integer> <key>IOInterfaceUnit</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>IOLocation</key> <string></string> <key>IOMACAddress</key> <data> ABbPoF5V </data> <key>IOPathMatch</key> <string>IOService:/AppleACPIPlatformExpert/PCI0@0/AppleACPIPCI/P0P3@1C,2/IOPCI2PCIBridge/pci14e4,4311@0/AirPort_Brcm43xx/IO80211Interface</string> </dict> This is the part of my wireless card in lspci: 10:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4310 USB Controller [14e4:4315] (rev 01) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Unknown device [103c:137d] Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx- Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx- Latency: 0, Cache Line Size: 64 bytes Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 17 Region 0: Memory at f0000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 3 Flags: PMEClk- DSI- D1+ D2+ AuxCurrent=0mA PME(D0+,D1-,D2-,D3hot+,D3cold+) Status: D0 PME-Enable- DSel=0 DScale=2 PME- Capabilities: [58] Vendor Specific Information <?> Capabilities: [e8] Message Signalled Interrupts: Mask- 64bit+ Queue=0/0 Enable- Address: 00000000fee00000 Data: 4095 Capabilities: [d0] Express (v1) Endpoint, MSI 00 DevCap: MaxPayload 128 bytes, PhantFunc 0, Latency L0s <4us, L1 unlimited ExtTag+ AttnBtn- AttnInd- PwrInd- RBE+ FLReset- DevCtl: Report errors: Correctable- Non-Fatal- Fatal- Unsupported- RlxdOrd- ExtTag- PhantFunc- AuxPwr- NoSnoop- MaxPayload 128 bytes, MaxReadReq 128 bytes DevSta: CorrErr- UncorrErr- FatalErr- UnsuppReq- AuxPwr- TransPend- LnkCap: Port #0, Speed 2.5GT/s, Width x1, ASPM L0s L1, Latency L0 <4us, L1 <64us ClockPM+ Suprise- LLActRep- BwNot- LnkCtl: ASPM Disabled; RCB 64 bytes Disabled- Retrain- CommClk+ ExtSynch- ClockPM- AutWidDis- BWInt- AutBWInt- LnkSta: Speed 2.5GT/s, Width x1, TrErr- Train- SlotClk+ DLActive- BWMgmt- ABWMgmt- Capabilities: [100] #14e4 If you can help me, i won't need to buy a pcmcia card. SoyOskar
I have updated my Hackintosh to Kalyway 10.5.2 with vanilla kernel and when I try to use Bcm43xx_enabler.sh... It works! I'm conencted now from my Broadcom 4315 like as an Airport card. I think that the card isn't compatible with Tiger's IO80211Family.kext, but yes with Leopard version. Thanks for all and regards! slacker_mac
I got the same problem as you... im running Tiger 10.4.8 JaS with PPF 1 & 2... can't get the wifi to run... if i use the kext files from the vanilla disc... would you think that would work? i got everything working except for wifi and i wouldnt want to DL the vanilla coz it would take so long... i guess i'd try using the leopard kexts... and see if it would work... now if only someone would point me to those kext files any suggestions are welcome... thanks!!!
