I know this is a fairly old topic, but have you had any luck? I've been trying various versions of 10.4.8/9 and 10.5.2/3 and haven't had any anything happen. I think it's something about a bootloader, but I can't read the error well enough to be sure because it restarts after the error occurs faster than I can read it. Tried it through VMWare to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

 

To be more descriptive, I put the disc in, it starts, I hit -v -x, and it starts booting. After a minute or two of loading up the installer it just restarts in an endless loop. So I don't even get to the install screen.

 

I have almost the same laptop, except mine is the Compaq Presario cq50-105nr.

1.9Ghz Athlon X2

2GB DDR2 RAM

160GB HD

Geforce 8200m g

you need to install it either from an external drive or with VMWare.
