dollarside
Hi to all the experts out there, I just downloaded "Leopard-10.5.2-AMD-EFI-Rev2" and burned the ISO image into a DVD (not the slowest speed though). I have done nothing to the original image, and what I mean be nothing is that if there is a patch or something, I have not patched the image. So this is what happens, I popped in the DVD, it asks me to press any button to load, so it loads and then a grey Apple sign with a light grey back ground comes out (with the loading circle thingy in the buttom of the Apple). So it loads for 2-3 minutes and the loading circle stops. I left it there and went to lunch and came back (an hour later) but it's the same... So I tried again with the -v thing, but the result is the same. Here is my computer spec: CPU : AMD Athlon 64 MOther board: MSI K9N Neo Graphic Card : GeForce XFX 8800GS RAM : 1.5 Gigs And I do have SSE3 too, if more info is needed please state so too. Okay so please if you know what to do, please help me get this, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!! wastred
those three are flags that you can pass to the darwin bootloader that boots off the dvd when it says "Press any key to install or press F8...", press F8 and then type -v for verbose output. If my guess is right, the boot process should get stuck at "Still waiting for root device..." This is pretty *popular* error, try googling for it. Otherwise try the following links: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...for_root_device http://allansiew.wordpress.com/2006/05/04/...or-root-device/ http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=17421 Best of luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120298-leopard-1052-amd-efi-rev2-grey-apple-freeze/#findComment-1039819 Share on other sites
