can't boot/get display without kalyway disc in optical drive

yo guys, first post. weeeeerd.

 

im sure it's been asked before, so i'll probably get shot down, but whatever. im just curious.

 

i have a peculiar problem. i have my video card efi strings setup correctly (as far as i know) i mean, it detects my car, memory, and everything alike. however, if i don't have my bios set to boot from cd, and have the kalyway 10.5.2 inserted after the grey apple screen the screen goes black n just hangs. though if the cd is inserted it works completely perfect. anyway, yeah. i dont know if anybody knows whats up, or can link me to a solution.
