Den-Den
Specs: Pentium 4 3.0Ghz 1GB RAM 256 MB VRAM (nVidia) 80GB SATA 250GB SATA Mac OS X Installation DVD: iATKOS v4i currently running OS: Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit My SATA Hard Disks are partitioned as follows: disk0 = 250GB partition 1 = Mac OS Extended Journaled partition 2 & 3 = NTFS (used for Windows Vista) disk1= 80GB partition 1 = NTFS (where my Windows Vista system is installed) partition 2 = NTFS (still used for Windows Vista) My installation procedures: 1. Formatted disk0 partition 1 as Mac OS Extended Journaled 2. Selected Custom install -Main System -Darwin Bootloader x86 -Kernel 9.4.0 -didn't install patches (as I don't know if I should) or drivers 3. Installation went on just fine. It was able to successfully install Mac OS X on my desired drive. Booting: 1. Restarted the computer and took out the iATKOS v4i DVD. It boots up to Windows Vista. 2. Restarted computer again and set the computer to boot from the 250GB hard drive. 3. It now detects the Darwin Bootloader. Countdown from 5 to 1 and and then it just restarts. 4. Tried rebooting again to the 250GB hard drive and this time I hit enter and chose to boot from partition 1. Still restarted the computer. What I've tried (in the following order): 1. Used EasyBCD to add Mac OS X x86 into the boot menu. -> Same result. 2. Boot from iATKOS v4i DVD and did the Darwin stuff. Typed -s and typed darwin and followed the instructions carefully. -> same result. Guys please help. I don't know what I am missing or where did I go wrong. CrazyVirus
select the old kernel 9.2.0 that helps very much and if you got a non-efi boot loader select that under\over the kernel 9.2.0 ;P that should fiks your problem :D (sorry for bad English) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120290-iatkos-v4i-unable-to-dual-boot-with-vista/#findComment-851426 Share on other sites

zwaldowski
You'll also notice that if you select the OS X entry in Vista's bootloader, then go to advanced options in the Leopard BL, and select your Leopard partition, it boots. Den-Den
Thanks guys. I did CrazyVirus' suggestion. I chose the Non-EFI bootloader and Kernel 9.2.0. I boot the computer through the partition where I installed Mac OS X. It showed the Mac OS X loading screen... but it just stays there. Did I miss something during the installation. I installed: Main System Darwin Non-EFI Bootloader Kernel 9.2.0 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120290-iatkos-v4i-unable-to-dual-boot-with-vista/#findComment-852706 Share on other sites
