Hi there i'm new to this forum and have been very pleased with what i've seen thus far. This is by far the best forum i've seen online. I currently own a macbook but don't want to spend $3000 on a g5 to make music so i'm looking to save some money. I really want to install osx 86 on an old vaio rx 640 (all the specs are below) so that I can install a pro audio pci card and run garageband or even logic express at minimal cost. Can this be done? I've seen alot of posts about sound issues and would really appreciate any help before I invest time and finances on achieving this. If my vaio is not capable of handling the osx install can you recommend a cheap pc that would be able to handle such a task? I know i'm asking for alot but I will certainly post my success and failures as I go along in hope of helping others. Thanks again and in advanced.

My sony vaio rx 640(It does read dvd roms)
