ok got a New ATA133 160Gb drive today to replace the two aging 40 Gb ata 100`s i was using for OSX.. i have about 100Gig odd off , films music and various Apps on a partition on the SATA Raid 0 array on 2 x 120Gb Samsung SATA`s along with my OS..

 

im planning to partition the 160Gb ATA133 drive and Put OSX on one Part and the DATA on the other.. if i use FAT32 file sysem will OSX be able to read the DATA part as well as XP....

 

also on another note is it worth me destroyin my array in the vry near future and putting OSX on one of them..??

 

ideas and suggestions welcome on the best plan of action..

Sure, Mac OS X can read and write to FAT32 partitions, only try to not use extended partitions. Mac OS X can read NTFS partitions but not write. It also can mount ext partitions but in these days ext2 or ext3 are the standard.

damn, move data to the new partitoned harddisk. partitoned it in pmagic one call data and other osx.. went into osx diskutiltiy during osx setup went to erase the partion and format OSX part for installation , ended up with error and now the drive appears empty.?? :censored2: lost quite a bit of music and work.. :(

 

any ideas on how i can recover this,
