kennelbound
For the average person who just wants to run OSX on their laptop/desktop/whatever there is waaaaaay too much information. This is not a simple process. I've been thinking on how we might make it a bit easier. Couldn't there be an application similar to TestMyHardware that will determine what configuration you are running on your windows machine. It could then make recommendations on which version of OSX to install, what patches need to be applied, etc. I am a software developer (but I work much higher up the stack, closer to the UI) and I'm not sure exactly how it would be implemented. But it seems like a Hardware Compatibility Tester application is needed. What do you guys think? adrock42
PCwiz is working on something like this except it tries to install the drivers from a database. Search the forums for his osx86 tools.
