Danneman
Hello, Ive followed this very easy-to-follow guide on how to install Kalyway Max Os X 10.5.2 on my laptop (intel) with dual-boot to WinXP: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...DualBoot_10.5.2 The installationprocess has worked to the very last step without any apparent problems. However, when I finally start the mac, only a black screen appears. Im guessing this has to do with my graphics-card not beeing fully supported with the drivers included. Ive checked to install all the drivers for nvidia that came with the install-dvd, and my graphicscard is an nvidia geforce 8600 GT (mobile version). Could anybody verify that this probably is the problem? And if so, please direct me in the next step to follow to solve this. My laptop is a zepto 6224w, intel core2 duo 1,66mhz (T5450). Thanks, Daniel Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120174-kalyway-1052-install-complete-black-screen-gpu-drivers-missing/ Share on other sites
Danneman
After some troubleshooting Ive got some more info that might help a more adept hackintosher to identify the problem: When starting in safe-mode (-x) I do get the grey screen with the mac-logo running. After a while it is exchanged with the same black screen as before, but it does not seem to freeze up - instead I can both hear the computer running and the little lights on the casing are blinking, indicating the computer is working. Please, any ideas are welcome Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120174-kalyway-1052-install-complete-black-screen-gpu-drivers-missing/#findComment-850452 Share on other sites
Danneman
Perhaps not many here have much experience from dual-boot with xp to be in a position to help out, but after spending the whole day yesterday reinstalling several times, I came to the conclusion that the NVinject-drivers were to blame. Not selecting any of these video-drivers will make it work. On a side-note for other newbies as myself, the reinstallation was not as easy as you could imagine. I just formatted the mac-drive from winxp deleting the mac-installation, but got an error when trying to reinstall. By chance I started up Gparted and realized I still had the flag on my winxp-partition. Removing this, the reinstall worked fine again. Bele
I have the same machine but with the 2.0 GHz CPU, and Kalyway 10.5.2 worked for me with Nvinject 512 drivers. However, the USB ports and the LAN and Wifi cards werent functioning. An upgrade to Kalyway 10.5.3 fixed the USB ports, but I still haven't managed the network cards. Looking into it as I type this. Let me know if you make it work. Oh, but I'm not running a dual boot, just Leopard.
