Well, I have tried several updatefiles now. From 10.4.1 to 10.4.2 and some others, too but I get everytime the message: "your Computer does not need this update" But obviosly when I check the OS version it says 10.4.1

If I try to run the update from 10.4.4 to 10.4.5 (MacOSXUpd10.4.5intel) the installer shows up, but I am not able to select a traget to install, because all partitions are decorated with a red X ! So what`s going worng over there ?

Thx

There are no Combo Update to 10.4.5 on Intel because the firt released version for Intel was the 10.4.4 with the Intel iMac.

10.4.1 on intel was only for developers so there are no updates in the same way as retail versions.

The only way to update is with the patched 10.4.4/5 DVD.

ok. is it possible to patch my 10.4.1 ISO to a 10.4.4 installation ? Or is it impossible to avoid downloading anohter 4GB?

My mainproblem is that my ALC880 is not working under *.4.1

Are there some more options ? I found a file called "osxupdate.tar" which seems to make it possible to update from 10.4.1 to 10.4.3 in one term. The problem is, that I found now download for this. !

Thx

Just a question: is it even worth doing the update from 10.4.4 to 10.4.5 from what i read the update with the new Darwin 8.5.1 kernel only supports Intels new duo CPUs and hence needs to be pached back to the Darwin 8.4.1 kernel after the update which is then the same as 10.4.4. If this is the case why upgrade? Do we get more hardware support or are there new features?
