Nicolas Ivy
Addressing the wireless: In the future, it can be good to identify your device's chipset and then do a search for the chipset drivers, but until then, I can help here. The integrated wireless of a P5B Deluxe is nothing more than a USB wireless device, in this case a Realtek RTL8187L. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a way to have this device recognized as Airport. This forces us to use Realtek's third party driver (available on their website as a universal binary), as well as their wireless connection utility, instead. Speaking from experience, this driver delivers subpar performance, or at least a frustrating wireless situation. Realtek's connection software was buggy and unreliable in my testing, frequently freezing and dropping my network. So the long and short of it: the RTL8187L may work okay in OS X, even in 10.5, but on the whole you may be better off purchasing a discrete PCI wireless card. I can recommend the WMP200N from Linksys; under 10.5, it was instantly detected as a "third-part wireless card" and worked flawlessly as Airport. To get Realtek's driver, do a google search for site:realtek.com.tw/downloads/ RTL8187L The top hit should be Realtek's download page, where under the heading "RTL8187L" you can click "Others" and download the latest 10.5 UB release from one of their mirrors. As of this post, that's version 1309. Be sure to run the installer, reboot to load the kext (or use kextload), then launch the provided software to connect to your network. If anyone else has questions or comments on this device, I'm interested in hearing them. Hope this post helps someone.
