Mista2 Posted August 7, 2008 Share Posted August 7, 2008 Just installing my first hackintosh system, using the Kalyway 10.5.2 Intel_AMD DVD, AMD 4200+ 64 X2 CPU, Nvidia nForce 630a chipset, IDE disk and DVD Drive. The installer boots fine, I partitioned the disk with a single partition and the install completed without error (only change I made was to select he nvidia video driver sets. On reboot, it stops on grey apple logo screen and spinning wheel. -v shows all OK until Firewire detected, then the last event is unknown SIGSSEV code 0. What is the best place to start looking into what is causing this error. I tried all of the AMD kernetls indicated inthe readme, cpus=1, and -x all endin the same error. Googling shows the same erorr on some other AMD machines but no indication of what might have fixed them up if anything. Any hints would be kindly appreciated. Thanks. Danneman Posted August 10, 2008 Share Posted August 10, 2008 Is this the first time you tried the install? I mean, are you trying to reinstall? Then you need to uncheck the boot-flag (if you got dual-boot w. winxp it will be set to winxp-partition) in Gparted before trying to reinstall again. Then it will probably work fine.
