JonMS Posted August 7, 2008 Share Posted August 7, 2008 So I recently finished my first computer build (ever) and I must say I'm very happy with what I've done and I already have the 805 oc'd to 3.10Ghz but I was wondering if I could go any further with it. I know you can get them to pretty high speeds but i don't know a whole lot about overclocking. System spec's are in my sig if you need addition information just ask you shall receive. Alessandro17 Posted August 7, 2008 Share Posted August 7, 2008 I am not an expert of overclocking, but I believe what you have already achieved is almost a miracle. Have you checked the temperature of your CPU? Pentium D processors run quite hot even without overclocking. Synaesthesia Posted August 7, 2008 Share Posted August 7, 2008 Not quite a miracle, the Pentium D 805 can be overclocked to 4ghz! It just depends on whether your Motherboard and RAM can handle it. aquanutz Posted September 2, 2008 Share Posted September 2, 2008 People have gotten the 805 over 4ghz. The pentium D's can OC like a dream. I had my 820 at 3.4ghz, up from 2.8ghz, easy. Keep playing with your FSB, as long as you don't touch your vcore (up the voltage) you won't fry your machine. If you get to the point to where you can't boot because of it, open your case and reset the BIOS (It's a jumper pin switch, check your mobo guide).
