juanml82
Basically, what the title says. The ethernet board is listed but it doesn't connect to the Internet. My ISP tech support say that, in their side, they get a reading that "the modem isn't connecting to the pc". They say once the DHCP is refreshed in the advanced dialog box the ip should pop up, but nothing shows there. I attach a screencap It's in Spanish, it says that the cable is unplugged and there's no box in the IP adress (dirección IP) box. Newbie as I am, I have no idea what should show up there. I haven't tried to install additional drivers yet as - as far as I see - the ethernet board is recognized and the last time I used them the system wouldn't boot conexion_ethernet_mac.tiff Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119736-ethernet-works-or-so-it-seems-but-internet-doesnt/ Share on other sites
Basti756
Are there any LED's on your modem that are indicating certain states? Like syncronisation, link and stuff? According to that... have you already unplugged and replugged the modem? Maybe that's a solution Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119736-ethernet-works-or-so-it-seems-but-internet-doesnt/#findComment-847816 Share on other sites
juanml82
Power is on (of course), "Online" was on, IIRC "send" and "receive" were on but I'm not sure and "PC Activity was off. And if works fine with Win XP (with "PC Activity" turned on) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119736-ethernet-works-or-so-it-seems-but-internet-doesnt/#findComment-847929 Share on other sites
SticMAC™
Check to see if if you have a MAC address under your card's ADVANCED/ETHERNET: Ethernet ID: If not or its 00:00:00:00:00:00's then your either have the wrong kext loaded or there is not a correct device/vendor Id in the loaded kext SticMAN Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119736-ethernet-works-or-so-it-seems-but-internet-doesnt/#findComment-847939 Share on other sites
